Anyone who knows me, will be aware of the mental torture i put myself through since having miss boo, and whether i was a good mum or not.
Well i took half term off this year so that miss boo could play host to some of her friends as i work full time and in this day and age some people frown on little girls playing in s house with only daddy to look after them, miss boo had been desperate to have a friend from school over to play. This week has seen miss boo play host to not 1 not 2 but 3 of her friends, i am glad to say on separate days, so the week has flown by, the house filled with the sound of little girls screams, giggles, and tears and tantrums and the smell of mummy baking a variety of cookies and cakes to share.
It has been just like in the glossy magazines and very twee, and SO NOT ME!!!!!!!!!!
I have found myself arguing with the radio, chatting with the cats about world events, even enjoying the NEWS for goodness sake, everything has been washed and ironed, it is like an alien has landed and taken over my house.
Still Monday and everything will be back to normal, i will be off to work at the nuthouse, and miss boo at school everything will be hectic, the washing piled up then the ironing and tea will be what ever i can lay my hands on as i get home! PHEW...........
So my words of wisdom for all those who torture themselves, remember these words, as long as your happy your child will be happy to have a happy you!!! than a grumpy insane you! so do what makes you happy and SOD what anyone else thinks!!!!!!!!! :}

Macaroons - YUK Almonds who would have thought!!!
I have recently been watching the great British bake off, a simple premise for a feel good programme, Paul and Mary being wonderful and even when they had to say something was bad, they were so nice about it, and made the contestants feel OK about the comments. Any way I digress, I decided to have a go at some of the things i had seen on the show, on of which being Macaroons, i purchased the ingredients and read and re read the recipe - (not a usual trait) and set about making my first ever macaroons, they were to be pink to please my 6 year old whisking and beating went on for several hours and finally they went into the oven, 12 minutes later and after a little cooling - my first taste of my not to bad looking macaroons, ..........
YUK they taste of almonds and like those awful amaretto biscuits my mother loves except without the alcohol !!! it then occurred to me that the ingredients had included ground almonds amongst the egg white and icing sugar............ but i had expected them to taste like they looked like tiny meringues..... man was i disappointed! still learnt something valuable, ground almonds make things taste of almonds. I think i will stick to making the victoria sponge and vanilla biscuits and put thoughts of Great British Bake off out of my head, although i can say the golden syrup cake from the pink whisk website is MEGA and definatly doesn't taste of almonds!!!!!!!

Dogs v's Kids
We have been dogless for several years, and when we met we had a dog each and since we had Princess M both the dogs have passed away, however only recently been scattered to the 4 winds, when we scattered my dads ashes, but hey thats another story.
Back to the dogs v's kids well we have both missed having a dog WE THOUGHT!! that was firmly proved not to be the case this weekend when we dog sat a Mates New GSD, for a sleepover while they returned a child they had on loan to make their own less grumpy in the long summer break.
Now incase my mate S reads this I have to say that the dog was no trouble, big, loud, but no trouble, and when you introduced a watering can into the mix VERY amusing, and when i get the hang of this blog thing i will share photo's.
But when Mate S came and collected Bear B, we both looked at each other and said, yeah even if we win the lottery and get a huge house with loads of land lets NOT get a Dog, and then busrt out laughing.
SO i guess the score is kids 1 dogs 0.

Friendship
I watched a lovely film once called "pay it forward" the premis being that if someone did you a good deed you didn't pay them back but you then had to do someone else a good deed.
it is a typical chick flick made me cry even though it was a lovely film but i love the idea behind it , and it has apparently led to RAOK days, Random Acts of Kindness in the states particularly, and i have to say that this would be a good american thing to adopt.
I think we should have several a year, think how much fun it would be, so what do we say UK are we up for some RAOK, days.
come on lets use social networking and mobile phones for spreading good things, lets pick a day and get the word out there!!!!

Definition of Celebrity
Am i alone in my opinion that the word celebrity is almost as over and incorrectly used as ICON these days and that all you have to do to be called a celebrity these days is appear in front of a camera in a pair of Jimmy Choos, oh and whilst we are on the subject of shoes was I the only female that didn't know that the bottoms of these very expensive shoes are always red its "the thing"
sorry i got distracted for a moment, anyway do you agreed that celebrity and icon are wrongly and over used!! say I
sorry i got distracted for a moment, anyway do you agreed that celebrity and icon are wrongly and over used!! say I
The first random thought
Tell me is it wrong to find yourself sat in your car out side the doctors on your way to a grief counsellors appointment roaring with laughter as you have just had a discussion with your dead fathers ashes.
Because you have to put him in the boot of the car, as the woman from the funeral directors has put him in a fancy gift bag for you to bring home and your afraid some one will steal him, like the dog in a suitcase! (which is a whole other story all on its own) if you leave him on the passenger seat with his seatbelt on (as you were worried he would fall off and you hated the idea of having to vac him out of the car mats.
so back to my original question is is wrong?
